Work Highlights
Legal defence of a touristic company following sanctions imposed by PROFEPA, including a large fine and a prohibition to carry on cage diving with great white sharks, alleging that the company had violated the applicable regulations on environmental impact.
Legal representation in amparo suits on behalf of mining companies against the legal reforms forbidding mining operations in Natural Protected Areas. CARMAC obtained the first definitive injunction and the first favorable judgment by Federal Judges against said reform.
Successfully represented a Citizen Committee in relation to an amparo suit against the authorities for failing to prevent and/or punish illegal developments and environmental violations taking place in a neighbourhood located in the Chapultepec Area, Mexico’s largest urban park.
