Our IT team consists of experienced commercial lawyers, financial services lawyers and litigators who each have expertise in IT and telecoms. They work at the forefront of the technology sector, giving strategic advice to those embarking on blockchain projects, AI product development, cyber risks and resilience and advise InsurTech and FinTech clients on the regulated and unregulated aspects of their businesses.

Key types of work

IT contracts: Led by Maria Coggins, our commercial lawyers advise on, draft and negotiate master services agreements, IT outsourcing agreements, software development agreements, licensing agreements, reseller agreements and SaaS, PaaS and IaaS agreements. We work closely with cyber security specialists ITC Global Security, digital transformation consultancy services specialists.

Development/licensing: We advise a large portfolio of clients on design, development (including agile development), maintenance, support, hosting and licensing arrangements.

Blockchain: We continue to obtain new instructions involving blockchain technology.

Data protection and cyber security: We provide advice and documentation to clients, including ITC Global Security Limited regarding data processing agreements and obligations. We also advise on data protection implications for digital transformation, cloud projects and new technologies including advising Clicksco on data transfer and compliance issues in relation to their proprietary “Carbon” ad tech solution.
