Our Tax Group at BLG has extensive experience in domestic and international taxation matters. We are recognized for our ability to develop innovative solutions that help our clients minimize their tax burden while benefiting fully from available tax incentives.

We provide international tax advice to many Canadian corporations with business operations outside of Canada and the foreign subsidiaries of such corporations, and to foreign companies that either directly or through a Canadian subsidiary operate in Canada. Our international tax expertise covers such areas as international business transactions, structuring the acquisition of Canadian businesses by non-residents, acquisition of businesses in foreign jurisdictions by Canadians, international tax planning, transfer pricing, inbound and outbound financing, repatriation of funds, cross-border executive compensation and employee relocation.

Members of our Tax Group have served in government and private industry tax departments. They regularly make submissions to government on tax laws, write and lecture on tax, and actively contribute to the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Investment Funds Institute of Canada, the International Fiscal Association and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
