About
Provided by Ballard Spahr LLP
We represent employers in their dealings with unions and unionized workforces, including in the heavily-unionized health care, manufacturing, and logistics/maritime industries. Our lawyers have seen a resurgence of union-related issues, in both union and non-union workplaces. We appear before the NLRB and the federal courts of appeals in NLRA representation and unfair labor practice cases. In terms of collective bargaining, we assist employers in the negotiating process both as first chair spokespersons, and as behind-the-scenes strategic advisors, as well as with post-contract issues including grievance management and arbitration proceedings. Today’s economic climate continues to necessitate cost management through collective bargaining – we return results that save employers money while avoiding labor strife.
Our training and counsel are critical to preventing and prevailing in eventual litigation. We take pride in the intangible, impossible-to-measure benefits our clients enjoy every day in the form of lawsuits that were never filed and incidents that never occurred or were stopped in their tracks.
