A substantial leader in high value, complex construction disputes in the Thames Valley and London areas. The team advise on a broad spectrum of contentious (claims arising out of fire safety defects, for extensions of time, loss and expense, defective work, issues surrounding termination, defective work to domestic builds and refurbishment projects) and non-contentious practice matters, including contract negotiation and drafting. 

The department works with a large client base, including private individuals, homeowners, major developers, contractors and subcontractors as well as big-hitting corporates and other professionals such as architects and surveyors. The firm is regularly instructed to give ‘real-time’ advice on the terms of contracts during the life of a project to ensure the terms are followed correctly, and in the event a dispute arises later on so that clients are well positioned to bring or defend a claim.

The team have a proven track record for delivering results based on the quality of their technical expertise, advice and service. The firm is the sole legal partner of the UK’s longest standing trade body, the National Federation of Builders (NFB).

In addition, the team have adept experience acting for clients in all forms of dispute resolution, whether bringing or defending a claim. This includes litigation in the Technology and Construction courts, adjudication, arbitration, mediation and negotiation.
