Foreign desks The firm's Singapore office advises a host of international clients on high-profile corporate deals, including on behalf of banks, governments and project companies. The team is recognised for its energy and infrastructure work throughout Malaysia. It recently advised Vopak, Petronas and Dialog Group on a USD2 billion project for the development of a deepwater oil terminal in Malaysia. In addition, the firm offers substantial experience of Shari'a-compliant financing and recently assisted HSBC as dealer-manager, as well as several Malaysian and international banks as arrangers and dealers, with the novation exercise by Sime Darby linked to its USD1.5 billion sukuk programme.

Chris Moore leads the APAC Corporate M&A team, handling multi-jurisdictional mergers, joint ventures and acquisitions. He is particularly active on corporate transactions relating to Malaysia and recently advised Asia Capital Reinsurance Group on its acquisition of 80% stakes in ACR Retakaful Berhad and ACR Retakaful MEA from Dubai Banking Group and Khazanah Nasional.

Jason Humphreys is the leader of the energy, infrastructure and projects team in Singapore, and regularly acts for ECAs, banks, and sponsors on a range of financing and development issues across the region. He is particularly adept at advising on project development and financing matters in Malaysia. He recently acted for Affin Hwang Investment Bank, CIMB Islamic Bank and Maybank Investment Bank as mandated lead arrangers and financiers on the refinancing of USD570 million conventional and Islamic debt facilities of the UMW Oil & Gas group.

Singapore-based Jeremy Stoupas offers a wealth of experience on both conventional and Islamic finance issuances. He is well known for advising on Malaysian capital markets work with sources noting that he is "very familiar with the Malaysian landscape." He acted for Cagamas Global as English law counsel in relation to its issue of USD350 million notes guaranteed by Cagamas Berhad.
