SSEK Law Firm is acting as Indonesian counsel for Tokushukai Medical Corporation Group, Japan’s largest medical services group and one of the largest medical services groups in the world, in connection with the 10 billion Japanese yen (approximately 1 trillion Indonesian rupiah) financing and development of a groundbreaking cardiovascular center in Jakarta, in cooperation with Harapan Kita Hospital.

 

The signing of the memorandum of understanding for this innovative project took place in Japan on December 11, 2023, witnessed by distinguished figures including Indonesia’s Health Minister and the Indonesian Ambassador to Japan.


This collaboration underscores the unwavering dedication of both nations, as well as esteemed leaders from both countries, including the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Prime Minister of Japan, who have championed the fruition of this partnership as demonstrated by their meeting in December 2023 in Japan. SSEK takes immense pride in being part of this strategic bilateral venture between Indonesia and Japan serving to advance the healthcare system in the region, particularly cardiovascular services.

They are also providing cutting-edge medical equipment crucial for the center's operations and are committed to facilitating comprehensive training and upskilling programs, bridging the expertise gap between cardiovascular specialists in Japan and Indonesia. This is part of Tokushukai Medical Corporation Group’s commitment to improve the provision of cardiovascular services in the Asian region.

 

Partner Denny Rahmansyah is leading the SSEK team for this project, with associates Shafira Hexagraha and Fadhira Mediana. Their work includes reviewing the memorandum of understanding and related documents, advising on project financing, real estate matters, hospital construction, medical equipment procurement, and compliance with healthcare professional regulations from an Indonesian law perspective.
