On February 21, 2024, an agreement was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation amending the General Provisions for the registration of individuals or legal entities providing specialized services or carrying out specialized works referred to in Article 15 of the Federal Labor Law.

As part of said agreement, the renewal of the Specialized Services Providers Registry ("REPSE" per its acronym in Spanish) through the REPSE platform is contemplated, which will have a validity period of three years from the registration.

Providers of specialized services or works must be up to date with their tax and social security obligations before the Tax Administration Service, the Mexican Social Security Institute, and the National Workers' Housing Fund Institute.

The renewal module will be enabled only during the period defined in the calendar issued by the Mexican Federal Labor Ministry, which grants a period of three months prior to the expiration of the registration.

The Mexican Federal Labor Ministry must issue the resolution on the renewal request within a period of twenty business days after receiving it through the platform. If not done, the Mexican Federal Labor Ministry may be required to issue the renewal notice within three business days.

Once the registration is renewed, there is an obligation on the part of the providers of specialized services or works to inform the beneficiaries of the registration update.
