Payet, Rey, Cauvi, Pérez Abogados announces the appointment of María del Pilar Sabogal as a new Partner in the Corporate practice group, a strategic lateral hire that strengthens the finance and projects practice and reaffirms the firm’s leadership position in the legal market.

María del Pilar brings a strong track record and deep expertise in structuring complex financings, capital markets transactions —both domestic and international— and infrastructure project development, further expanding the firm’s capacity to advise on sophisticated, high-impact transactions.

Her infrastructure project experience includes advising on the structuring and implementation of project financing, joint ventures, investment and divestiture processes, EPC Contracts, operation and maintenance agreements, as well as strategic commercial advisory to concession companies in their dealings with lenders, contractors, government entities, and other market participants.

Prior to joining the firm, María del Pilar served as Lead Partner at EY Law.

Regarding her appointment, María del Pilar Sabogal stated: "I am excited to join a firm with such a strong track record, a differentiated value proposition, and clear market leadership. This move represents a tremendous opportunity to continue building on an already established finance and projects practice, with the goal of advising our clients on their most complex and strategically significant transactions."

Juan Antonio Egüez, co-managing partner of the firm, noted: "María del Pilar Sabogal is a lawyer with wide recognition in the market. Her experience in finance, capital markets, and infrastructure fits naturally into an already established practice, and enables us to continue deepening our value proposition in an area that is strategically important for both the firm and our clients."

María del Pilar’s appointment became effective as of June 1, 2026.
