Simon specialises in non-contentious trust work, and is perceived by his peers as a leader in this field. He principally advises corporate fiduciaries in relation to the establishment and ongoing operation of trusts and other wealth management structures.
Career
Simon joined Babbé in 1988 shortly after qualifying as a Guernsey Advocate. Simon is appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, which is the island’s financial services regulator. He is also Deputy Bâtonnier (i.e. Deputy Chairman) of the Guernsey Bar Council, a member of the Legislation Review Panel (the body responsible for scrutinising legislation prior to its submission to the island’s legislature), a member of the Editorial Board of the Jersey and Guernsey Law Review and a member of the Board of Examiners responsible for the setting of the local Bar examinations. He has written extensively on a variety of legal subjects.
