Rich DeNatale is one of the world’s leading lawyers in the field of cyber insurance. He has been retained to handle insurance claims for 75 cyberattacks and data breach incidents, including some of the largest in history. From 2014 to 2019, he led a team of lawyers representing Sony Pictures in obtaining insurance coverage for the cyberattack attributed to North Korea. Rich has also served as lead counsel for policyholders in precedent-setting coverage cases involving cyber, privacy and data breach claims. He has extensive first-chair experience in jury trials and arbitrations hearings. Rich regularly assists clients in the technology, retail, healthcare, entertainment, and manufacturing sectors in evaluating and upgrading their insurance programs to protect against cyber risk. Rich frequently writes and lectures on cyber insurance issues, and recently authored the cyber insurance chapter for a published guidebook on data breach investigations.
