Career
A recognized national leader in hydropower, including all federal environmental and other regulatory policies affecting hydropower, Chuck Sensiba provides strategic, legal and policy counsel on a full range of existing and emerging issues affecting the hydropower industry.
In his nearly 25 years of legal practice, Chuck represents hydropower interests in some of the most high-profile, complex and controversial proceedings involving the regulation of non-federal hydropower projects across the U.S. He regularly handles matters arising under the Federal Power Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Coastal Zone Management Act, and the array of other federal and state regulatory programs pertaining to hydropower.
His work includes successful representation in scores of hydroelectric relicensing proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC); attainment of original FERC licenses for new project development; FERC license enforcement and compliance proceedings; administrative and appellate litigation before the U.S. Courts of Appeal on hydropower licensing and administrative matters; and policy work before the U.S. Congress. Chuck serves clients ranging from some of the largest and most complex facilities in the nation to small water supply projects. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the National Hydropower Association.
