Family Law and related issues

The family law team, founded and headed by Alain Berger, with seven lawyers, among which Marie Berger and Stéphanie Francisoz, partners since January 1^st 2020, advise international and national high net worth clients in all aspects of family law and related matters such as inheritance, trusts, wills and protection of assets. The team is used to prepare and negotiate complex international pre- and post- nuptial agreements, with substantial assets and income cases, as well as continental law marriage contracts. Alain Berger, Marie Berger and Jean de Saugy contributed to various publications in the area of Family law. Stephanie Francisoz, who is licensed as a Swiss Federation of Lawyers specialist, has particular expertise in matrimonial property settlement and criminal matters, especially in relation to family law.

In national, international and transnational cases, the team, with Marie Berger, who dedicates herself to family law issues, is known as a strong arguing one, and has a wide expertise in all procedural aspects of the consequences of a marriage breakdown, while trying to find out of court solutions, whenever possible. The team is handling all types of family proceedings, including, occasionally with the skills of Jean de Saugy, enforcement and recognition of foreign court orders. The team is also very active in international child abduction cases, as well as questions relating to surrogacy.
