FAQs

Why is this happening?

Some internal changes are taking place at Chambers to allow for a more specialist research team that will be dedicated to UK research from January to July. This enables us to begin researching some of our larger sections earlier than we have done previously. In order to research them, though, we need submissions.

When will the rest of our submissions be due?

Any section not listed above will be due in either February or April. The full list of these dates will be made available later in the year. We will try where possible to not change it from last year.

Can we ask for an extension?

Any firm struggling to meet a deadline should in the first instance concentrate on submitting their client referees on time. These are always the most time-sensitive part of the research.

I’m almost ready to submit but I might be one or two days late. Should I get in touch with the research team?

You do not need to get in touch with the research team if you are only going to be one or two days late.

What are the consequences to submitting late?

Submitting your client referees late will affect our ability to process them before the start of research and could jeopardise the chances of your referees from being contacted. Submitting your work highlights late could affect your firm’s chance of being asked for an interview and in extreme cases could affect the research team’s ability to assess your work.

Will you contact our referees at the same time as you have in the past?

All referees will be contacted between January and July. However, we will be researching many practice areas at different points in the year compared with past years. For example, Private Equity will begin in January rather than in March. That means that referees may hear from us at a slightly different time of year than they usually would.
