Mónica Tantaleán, Research Director

After my LLM in Manchester and whilst living and working as a lawyer in Lima, I had the chance to go to London. Whilst there, I had an interview with Chambers to talk about the Peruvian projects market. I enjoyed the interview so much that I thought that if I ever moved to London, I would like to work at Chambers. Almost 6 years ago, I decided to do just that. I started as a Research Analyst in the Latin America team in 2016 and after 3 years, 2 months and having my son, I became the leader of the Latin America team.

My role at Chambers gives me the opportunity to pursue some of my passions: law, Latin America and diversity. I enjoy being in touch with so many people across the region and around the world, learning how different Latin American legal markets operate and develop, and raising awareness about how the LatAm market is getting on in terms of gender diversity.

I am very proud of my team, from the Research Analysts to the Research Managers, whose hard work and passion for researching the LatAm legal market are truly inspiring! I am very lucky to work with such a great group of people!

If you would like to get in touch with me, please contact me at [email protected]. I look forward to connecting!

Gianluigi Esposito, Research Manager

I was born in Naples, Italy and grew up in the heart of the Mediterranean, which historically has been at the intersection of different stories, cultures, and populations. The cosmopolitan identity of this city had a crucial impact on my personal and cultural development, which is well reflected in my studies in politics and languages, as well as the time I have spent between Italy, Spain and the UK, and my career in the academic, institutional and research sectors.

This background led me to Chambers and Partners in 2018, when I joined the company as a Research Analyst. Since then, I have never left the Latin America team and have been promoted a number of times, most recently to my current position as Research Manager. I have covered many different jurisdictions in my time at Chambers; on the Latin America team, I specialised in the Mexican legal market, but also managed to get involved with our Europe and Global guides, gaining exposure to our Italy and International Capabilities research.

Supported by our other Research Managers, Research Director and my team of Research Analysts, I currently oversee the research focusing on Mexico, Bolivia, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, Ecuador and International Counsel. My role is to support the growth of our research and coverage, as well as to ensure my team always meets the highest possible standards.

If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]

Jonathan Block, Research Manager

I joined Chambers and Partners back in 2015 and have been part of our Latin America team ever since. I have completed studies in politics and law, and am fluent in Spanish. I began my Chambers journey researching the Mexican legal market, covering all areas of a transactional, regulatory and contentious nature. Shortly after joining, I was promoted to Senior Researcher, Assistant Editor and finally my current role, Research Manager. This saw me take on the responsibility of overseeing our research into Mexico, Central America and International Counsel.

I now lead the team focusing on Chile, Colombia and Central America. Working with my team of Research Analysts and Senior Research Analysts, as well as with the other Research Managers and our Research Director, I ensure that our work meets the highest possible standards and is as inclusive as possible. In line with our approach on the Latin America team,

I think it is important for all firms to be aware of how our research process works, what is important (and not so important) to us and how they can participate as effectively as possible.

In that regard, if you have any questions (or suggestions), please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].

Theo Resnikoff, Research Manager

I was born and raised in Mexico City but have lived in the UK since 2009. Prior to joining Chambers, I worked as an investigative journalist on several high-profile investigations, including the forced disappearance of 43 students from Aytozinapa, Mexico. I joined Chambers in 2017 and worked my way up the ladder on the Latin America team from Research Analyst to Senior Researcher and now Research Manager. During my time as a Research Analyst, I covered the vast majority of jurisdictions in Latin America, which gave me a strong insight into the legal market in the region, as well as great interactions with firms all over Latin America.

As a Research Manager, I currently oversee the research into several Latin American jurisdictions including Peru, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Venezuela, Panama, and Uruguay. Working with my team of direct reports, as well as the broader editorial team at Chambers, my role is to ensure that the research meets the highest possible standards.

I am the first point of contact for any research or ranking queries you may have, and should you have any questions, or suggestions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected].
