Chambers Global research into younger lawyers working across the Middle East

The Chambers Global 2022 guide launches on February 17 and in this edition of the guide and legal rankings for the global market, our data and research has shown an increased representation of younger lawyers.

The rise of young lawyers in Egypt

Notably, our insights into the market show a record-breaking period in Egypt, with more younger lawyers recognized than ever before, six were ranked as Up and Comers and two as Associates to Watch.

Our market intelligence and data are indicative of the enormous breadth of talent evident at all levels of the legal profession within this most dynamic of markets.

Who are the emerging lawyers to watch across the UAE in 2022?

Within the UAE, the region's most-developed market, a total of 35 lawyers received either Up and Comers or Associates to Watch rankings. This is an increase from 29 lawyers recognized in this way in the Chambers Global 2021 guide, when 18 UAE-based lawyers were ranked as Up and Comers. Eleven lawyers were ranked as Associate to Watch that year.

The total figure comes close to equaling the all-time highest number of lawyers in these categories, 37, seen in 2016.

It should be noted that the number of Up and Comers for 2022 is higher than it was back in the 2016 rankings.
