Advance China IP Law Office (ACIP), founded in 1999, is now one of the largest full-service IP law firms in China with over 1,000 IP professionals. ACIP patent team features 443 patent attorneys and patent engineers, 137 trademark attorneys, 56 litigators, and hundreds of supporting staff, including former patent examiners and senior in-house IP professionals. We have four main offices located in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, one U.S. representative office in Silicon Valley, and eight other branch offices in major cities of China.

Our mission is to help clients from all over the globe in a vast range of industrial sectors to obtain and manage IP portfolios, protecting their technologies, brands, copyrights, domain names, and the like. For that purpose, we provide comprehensive IP services covering pre-filing strategy, filing, and prosecuting patent and trademark applications, post-grant proceedings, enforcement, and litigation, aiming to maximize the client's benefits with cost and time efficiencies.

Clients trust us in both contentious and non-contentious IP matters for our accurate understanding of technology, versatile legal skills, fluent language, commercial-goal-oriented strategy planning, and flexibility and creativity in customizing tailor-made services. Our working languages include Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, and German.

Our patent attorneys with advanced science degrees can skilfully handle patent matters in most technical fields, including but not limited to electrical and electronics, telecommunication, software, semiconductor, displays, cell phones, batteries, mechanics, automobiles, home appliances, genetic engineering, pharma, materials, chemical engineering, medical devices.

Meanwhile, our trademark attorneys are strong in trademark prosecution, global trademark portfolio, brand development strategies, prevention of brand use risks, and trademark monitoring for various industries from fashion and luxury brands, cosmetics, sports products, daily commodities, home products to cell phones, automobiles, and other high-end products.

We also help clients enforce their patents by formulating contentious strategies, resolving infringements disputes, and combatting counterfeits for right owners via administrative enforcement, litigation, and invalidation proceedings. One challenge for foreign clients to sue infringers in China is the difference in court system and the burden of evidence collection. With collaboration with our Beijing office and other branch offices, and with the aid of our self-owned investigation team, our attorneys have been able to ensure effective evidence collection despite absence of discovery in person, as well as efficient court archive retrieval, efficient administrative investigation, and quick actions across China.

ACIP has over 50% female patent attorneys and supporting staff and 40% partners being women. All genders have equal opportunities and rights during their work within ACIP, including hiring process and promotion evaluation. Their privacy and rights are fully respected. Also, ACIP provides fair opportunities of employment and promotion to qualified people from 56 ethnic groups in China.

We also work with IP firms around the globe and actively contributes to international IP associations including AIPPI, INTA, FICPI, IPO, AIPLA, and MARQUES.

We have launched our Nanjing office and Tianjin office in 2022 and Chengdu office in 2023.
