Germany

The Competition/European law section in Germany ranks lawyers and law firms based on their recent work in merger clearance matters, foreign direct investment filings and foreign subsidy regulation mandates, as well as behavioural investigations into allegations of abuse of dominance or cartel involvement. Particular areas of activity in Germany recently have included investigations into the technology industry under Section 19a. State aid issues are also covered by this section. The separate Competition: Litigation subtable highlights individuals with a particular focus on the representation of clients in appeals against decisions by competition authorities or in damages claims, which is an area of growing activity in Germany. The Lawyers Based Abroad subtable highlights individuals based outside Germany but often acting on matters before the Federal Cartel Office.
