Career
Victor’s practice is focused on the resolution of commercial and corporate disputes. He has acted as counsel and as arbitrator in a significant number of domestic and international arbitrations and in litigation before state courts, involving disputes derived from energy and infrastructure projects, contracts for the international sale of goods, gas transportation agreements, share purchase agreements, M&A transactions, shareholders’ agreements, joint venture contracts, distributorship and franchise agreements. Victor also regularly advises parties in mediation and other forms of ADR.
He is the current General Director of the Instituto Mexicano de Arbitraje (since 2019) and one of three Vice Presidents of ICC México’s Commission on Arbitration and ADR for the (since 2017). He is also the Deputy Secretary of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Arbitraje (ALArb) (since 2020) and a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, the ICC Latin American Arbitration Group and of the Arbitration and Mediation Commission of CANACO. Victor chaired the Commercial Law Commission of the Mexican Bar Association (Barra Mexicana, Colegio de Abogados, A.C.).
From 2008 to 2011, Victor was a member of the Secretariat of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
