Valerie's practice focuses on digital transformation, outsourcing, managed services and technology transactions. She serves as a strategic advocate for clients as they undertake complex technology transformation programs designed to optimize business functions, such as improving customer and end user experience, improving organizational functioning, and establishing strong partnerships to drive innovation.
These transformational programs take the form of business process outsourcing (BPO), information technology outsourcing (ITO), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and systems implementation/integration, automation (RPA, AI), and other change intensive corporate initiatives. Her practice span various industries, including, luxury retail and consumer packaged goods, healthcare, entertainment, food & agriculture, automotive, architecture, engineering & construction, and financial services.
Val engages as a transformation enabler and uses tailored contract architectures and contracting processes to help her clients and their vendor partners work out deal complexities and establish ongoing problem-solving dynamics that extend beyond contract signature and into execution and governance.
Career
Valerie Paverd is a seasoned transactional attorney with more than 20 years of experience advising clients on complex outsourcing, technology, and digital transformation programs. With more than a decade focused specifically on transformation initiatives, Val brings both legal depth and a strong understanding of the operational and commercial dynamics behind these deals. Earlier in her career, she also advised on M&A, private equity, and finance matters.
Val co-founded Transformation Legal Group to create a boutique legal practice purpose-built for transformation work. A former Partner at major international and national law firms, Val combines the rigor of sophisticated transactional practice with a delivery model that prioritizes alignment, relationship health, and transformation outcomes alongside contractual protections.
Experience
Val actively engages in the sourcing industry, contributing her knowledge through various channels and has presented masterclasses on complex negotiations. Additionally, Val serves as a frequent guest lecturer at universities and other industry events. She maintains a strong connection with her alma mater, William Paterson University, and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Dean's Advisory Council for the WPUNJ College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences.
