Tom's practice involves both litigation in the Courts (at all levels including the Supreme Court) and by way of arbitration (both as arbitrator and as counsel). Tom handles a wide range of commercial litigation but also conducts trust and construction cases.

For six years he held the (part time) position of Chief Justice of the Cook Islands.
