Toby is Joint Head of G37 Chambers. He is an established international law specialist in the areas of public international law, commercial law, arbitration, extradition, asset recovery, and sanctions. He has provided advice and training to judges, prosecutors, and lawyers throughout the Balkans, Middle East, North Africa and South East Asia. He has appeared and been instructed in matters before the Courts of England and Wales, International Criminal Court, Kosovo Specialist Chambers, International Crimes Tribunal Bangladesh, European Court of Human Rights, Bosnian State Court, the UN Human Rights Committee, and domestic and international institutions subject to most of the major arbitral rules, including UNCITRAL, ICC, LCIA, PCA, ICSID, LMAA, ADGM, DIFC, and CIArb.
He has provided expert evidence and statements in parliamentary, legal and arbitration proceedings.
Toby advises on judicial reform, legislative drafting and institution building and acts for in pro-bono matters in foreign jurisdictions. He advises governments, law enforcement, international organisations, corporations and private individuals to develop professional and transparent institutions that combat corruption, and reduce the threat of transborder and transnational crime and develops training curricula for law enforcement, prosecutorial and governmental agencies for the investigation of international crimes.
