Practice Areas
Tom, who is an engineer as well as a lawyer, has been assisting transportation providers, pipeline operators and manufacturers with NTSB investigations of rail, aviation, highway, marine and pipeline calamities for almost 20 years. He and his team are intimately familiar with how best to assist involved companies from the early hours after the NTSB provides notification of the investigation through the on-scene interview process, document demands, post-scene testing, corporate safety management system interviews, the review of draft factual reports, preparation of party submissions and meetings with the Presidentially-appointed members before the final public NTSB meeting at which the NTSB staff draft accident report is reviewed and voted upon. They also provide full-day NTSB investigation training for the staff and legal departments of companies that are only occasionally involved in NTSB investigations.
