Sven Iver Steen

He primarily provides legal assistance within the finance, pension and insurance sector and has extensive experience as a legal advisor for companies, non-profit organisations and the public sector.

Steen has participated in an extensive production of several official reports relating to new legislation within the Norwegian finance, insurance and manufacturing sectors. He has been the CEO in The Joint Scheme for contractual pension (Fellesordningen for AFP), The severance pay agreement (Sluttvederlagsordningen) and the joint office for The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO)/The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO), as well as Arntzen de Besche.

Career

Joined the firm in 1984, partner from 1989, Managing Partner 2015-2018. CEO, the Organisation of Contractual Pension Scheme/Severance Pay Scheme, 2009-12. Deputy Judge, Tønsberg district court, 1988. Research assistant, University of Oslo, Institute of Private Law, 1981-82. Secretary of the Norwegian government appointed Investigation Committee on Kongsberg Vaapenfabrikk and of the Norwegian government appointed Banking Law Commission.

Admitted to the Supreme Court of Norway. Norwegian Bar Association.

Chairman and board member of several life insurance companies including chariman of the administration committee of Silver Pensjonsforsikring AS under public administration (2017-2018)
