Practice Areas
Stuart has extensive experience in all aspects of UK immigration and nationality law, with particular experience in business immigration matters. This is still a growing area in Scotland and Stuart is recognised by his peers as one of the leading practitioners. He has been instructed by some of Scotland's leading businesses to handle their Skilled Worker compliance issues and advise on the post Brexit immigration rules.
Stuart is one of Scotland's leading solicitors dealing with applications for partners of British nationals under Appendix FM. He is regularly instructed by individuals with complex financial positions which creates a need for specialised submissions to the Home Office to ensure a successful application. In addition, other solicitors regularly ask for his opinion on difficult cases.
Stuart is also regularly instructed to assist with complex nationality cases for individuals with historical links to the UK. This includes providing a nationality tracing service for individuals who believe they are entitled to British passports based on their parents and advising on how to register children born abroad, as British citizens.
