Stuart is a property specialist with a busy litigation practice of over 20 years' experience. His practice encompasses landlord and tenant disputes (in relation to both residential and commercial properties) and a range of real property matters. He is frequently instructed against ranked juniors and silks. Stuart's landlord and tenant practice includes issues such as renewal of business tenancies, dilapidations, service charges, forfeiture and leasehold enfranchisement. Stuart has particular interest in, and considerable experience of, RTM (Right to Manage) cases, which has led to a number of cases in which leading counsel have been acting for the other side. He has has acted in several complex property fraud cases involving rectification of the land register. Stuart is also familiar with, and accepts instructions involving the Building Safety Act 2022. His property practice includes boundary disputes, adverse possession claims, enforcement of freehold covenants and trusts of land. Stuart regularly gives seminars and webinars and appears in a range of courts and tribunal. He accepts cases under the Public Access Scheme.
