Career
Sofía has more than 15 years of experience in labour legal matters representing the management side. She began her professional career in a well-known full-service firm in Mexico City where she litigated for more than 10 years, allowing her to develop a more preventive rather than a reactive profile which she reflects when providing advice to clients.
She has a comprehensive knowledge and experience in all sub-specialties of labour law in Mexico, such as individual law, collective law, labour regulatory law, labour administrative law, litigation, prevention of discriminatory practices, social security and immigration law.
Sofía has acquired vast experience and developed a specialized business mindset and skills, particularly in the following industries and sectors: advertising, automotive, aviation, and maritime, education, hospitality, oil and gas, energy, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and medical, luxury retail, real estate, financial and technological services, transportation and logistics services, mining, telecom, and personal care industries, among others.
Likewise, Sofía has developed general knowledge and expertise in other fields of law, such as civil, commercial, contractual, tax and corporate, what has allowed her to become a facilitator and trusted advisor for several clients in Mexico, who seek for her legal advice not only in labour and employment, but also in other legal matters such as the design of their corporate structure, business model, potential restructures, executive compensation plans or incentives plans, among others.
Sofía has international academic experience, which has enabled her to develop a more international perspective when doing business and assisting foreign clients and colleagues.
She characterizes for her tenacity, perseverance, discipline, and passion for her profession, which she strives to reflect every day in her work and relationship with clients and colleagues. For these reasons, she has been recognized in the Mexican legal market as a rising star and a role model for new generations.
In the last two years, Sofía has consolidated her professional career on an international level by participating as Mexican Delegate representing the Mexican Employer Committee in the 111th and 112th Convention of the International Labour Organization held in Geneva, Switzerland in 2023 and 2024.
