Practice Areas
I both prosecute and defend in the most serious cases with a special interest and expertise in "baby-shaking" cases involving complex and expert medical evidence. I also have a particular interest in cases involving young defendants and witnesses. I have been involved in many high profile cases including prosecuting the "Baby P" case, defending Ian Watkins (Lostprophets), defending Andy Anoyke (Solo 45), (defending Roy Wilding (Sarah Payne). Recent cases include prosecuting a female defendant who had poisoned a four year old with insulin on two occasions with catastrophic consequences to the child, prosecuting a GP for indecent assault on a large number of female patients over a period of thirty years, defending an 18 year old defendant who had committed a "Gum-Tree" robbery and then stabbed one of the victims who chased him ( convicted of manslaughter). Defending a father who had killed his four year old son by force-feeding him. Defending a university lecturer who had stabbed his partner nearly 60 times (first loss of control case - R v Dowds). Defending a mother of five boys who was charged with the murder of a paedophile who had sexually assaulted three boys. I recently prosecuted a case in which a father had thrown his 4 week old baby across the room into her cot causing catastrophic injuries from which she died 12 years later.
I also sit as a Recorder at the CCC and see all sides of cases. I am a member of the CBA and SE Circuit.
