Patrick Potter provides clients with innovative and practical solutions to business problems in the real estate, health care, and hospitality sectors. Mr. Potter has both a national and international practice, and regularly appears in the Eastern District of Virginia, where he has been a member of the Virginia State Bar since 1996 and has tried cases before a dozen judges in the Richmond, Alexandria, Newport News and Norfolk Divisions since 1990.
Mr. Potter handles primarily distressed real estate, health care and hospitality transactions, chapter 11 proceedings, restructurings, workouts and recovery efforts. His experience encompasses representing debtors and creditors in complex bankruptcy proceedings across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Mr. Potter’s clients include real estate and hospitality lenders and owners (including REITS), landlords and tenants, and medical and health care companies. He regularly represents CMBS borrowers as well as mezzanine (and other structurally subordinated) lenders, real estate lenders in workouts and chapter 11 proceedings. He also has extensive international experience, including insolvency work in several MENA countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, Yemen, Morocco and Tunisia.
