Olivier Bernard is a structured finance partner at Orrick’s Paris office, with more than 17 years of experience.
He advises French and international financial institutions, insurers, funds and other alternative capital providers, as well as borrowers and originators, on structured finance, debt capital markets and securitisation transactions, in relation to a variety of assets, including real estate, leasing contracts, consumer loans, mortgages, transportation fleets and infrastructure.
Olivier has been involved on a number of groundbreaking multi-jurisdictional transactions, privately or publicly placed.
In particular, he took part in the setting up of the first French public auto ABS to be designated STS ("Simple, Transparent and Standardised") and one of the first public RMBS in France qualifying as an “STS+” transaction.
He also developped a particular expertise in regulatory capital transactions, and assisted a number of French credit institutions in the setting up of their most strategic SRT (“Significant Risk Transfer”) transactions.
As a member of the Paris EUROPLACE structured finance committee, Olivier is regularly involved in the drafting of French legal texts relating to securitisation and structured finance.
