Career

Mr. Schwartz is a partner in the Private Client and the Trusts and Estates practice groups. His practice focuses on domestic and multijurisdictional estate and succession planning for high net worth individuals, extending to all facets of estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. Mr. Schwartz’s practice also encompasses all phases of estate and trust administration. He also has extensive experience with gift and estate tax audits.

Michael has been a frequent speaker and contributor to a variety of publications on issues relating to trusts, estates and tax planning, and was the co-author of the recently published 14th edition of Stocker on Drawing Wills and Trusts. He recently served as the Chair of the Estate and Trust Administration Committee of the Trusts and Estates Section of the New York State Bar Association, and is currently the Section’s First District Representative. He was named to the 2019-2020 Board of Directors of the Estate Planning Council of New York City, and is also a fellow of the prestigious American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).
