Michael has accepted appointments as arbitrator for many years and has been appointed in LMAA, LCIA, SIAC and ICC arbitrations.

He is now a full-time arbitrator, following 3 decades as a barrister in commercial law, with an emphasis on shipping, commodities, and international trade. Michael has been appointed in a variety of maritime and international trade disputes (charterparties, shipbuilding contracts, superyachts, sale of commodities, etc.).

He has a strong connection with Singapore, where he spent several months with Allen & Gledhill early in his career and where he has conducted arbitrations both as counsel and as arbitrator.
