Practice Areas
Lochlinn is the Managing Director of Good Law Practice. He has a background in actions against the state with particular expertise in relation to public order and protest. He has also for many years represented families in Article 2 inquests.
The right to protest has been a core area of Lochlinn's expertise to date. He has worked with a wide variety of organisations and activists in civil claims, public law challenges, and in an advisory role. He is assisting Project to develop their strategy on standing up for the rights of protesters, particularly in respect of climate activists who have been silenced by the courts and those being targeted with injunction proceedings by state bodies or companies.
Career
He joined Good Law Practice in May 2023, after 15 years in legal aid firms, including ITN Solicitors where he was a Partner and head of the Civil Liberties and Human Rights Department, Deighton Pierce Glynn, and Bhatt Murphy Solicitors.
He is a co-author of the second edition of the Protest Handbook. He gave evidence to the Parliamentary Human Rights Select Committee on the issue of the police enforcement of the Coronavirus Regulations, in particular in respect of protest.
