Kyle D. Hawkins is the Chair of Lehotsky Keller Cohn’s Texas appellate practice, where he represents businesses in complex commercial cases from inception through final judgment and appeal. A seasoned trial strategist and appellate advocate, he has litigated cases at every level of the federal and state judiciaries. He has argued four cases in the U.S. Supreme Court, six in the Texas Supreme Court, 18 in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and three in the Texas intermediate appellate courts. He also routinely briefs and argues critical motions in trial courts.
Career
From 2018 to 2021, he served as Solicitor General of Texas, the state’s chief appellate advocate. He previously served as a law clerk on the U.S. Supreme Court to Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr., and on the Fifth Circuit to then-Chief Judge Edith H. Jones.
