He represents clients across a range of sectors, including oil and gas, mining, banking, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, retail, construction, and transportation.
Kanat Skakov is the founder and principal at VCC LLP, specialising in dispute resolution, tax and customs, commercial, and regulatory matters. Before establishing VCC, Kanat was a partner at Dentons (2013-2020) and Salans (2010-2013) where he headed Dispute Resolution and Tax & Customs practices in Kazakhstan.
Kanat has been top-ranked by the international legal directories such as Chambers & Partners and Legal500 for many years. He has graduated from the Kazakh State Law Academy (LL.B. with distinction, 2000) and University College London (LL.M. (UCL), 2001). As part of his inter-collegiate LL.M. course, he graduated from the International Commercial Arbitration course at the Queen Mary & Westfield College, University of London (with merits, 2001).
