Juan is the managing partner at Acosta & Cia, focused on complex conflicts and litigation, mainly related to fraud, computer crimes, tax crimes, customs, crimes committed in the exercise of public function, free competition, securities and banking market and environmental crimes.
In his more than 36 years of experience, in addition to participating in civil, commercial, constitutional and administrative sanctioning procedures, he has advised several government agencies and the National Congress in the drafting and processing of bills, generally in criminal matters. He has also been a member of various legislative commissions organized by the Ministry of Justice of Chile for the drafting of various laws and a new Criminal Code for Chile (draft bills of 2004; 2013; 2015 and 2018).
He has been professor of Criminal Law at Universidad Andrés Bello, Universidad Católica de Chile and Universidad de Talca, among others.
