Joël Grangé is regularly distinguished as a leading individual by international legal guides such as among others, Legal 500 and Chambers since 2004 (Band 1). Joël Grangé is also a member of the employment and industrial relations law committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the European Employment Law Association (EELA) and a member of the editorial committee of La Semaine Juridique – Social (LexisNexis).

Joël Grangé is a recognized authority in French employment law and labour relations, a subject on which he regularly authors articles and publucations.
He was a lecturer on employment law at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. He is also a member of the editorial committee of La Semaine Juridique - Social.
