Career

Ilario Giangrossi is a Partner of the firm and Head and Coordinator of the litigation, bankruptcy and restructuring department. Ilario works, on a regular basis, on a wide range of judicial proceedings within the remits of civil law, corporate law, banking and finance (also cross-border transactions and/or involving different parties) such as, by way of example, proceedings on the validity of Shareholders’ and Board meetings resolutions, the creation and dissolution of joint ventures, breach of Shareholders’ agreements and acquisition contracts, as well as directors and auditors’ non-performance of their obligations. Furthermore, Ilario boasts a solid experience in proceedings related to structured finance products and derivatives, violation of duties by financial intermediaries, as well as bankruptcy and restructuring procedures. With reference to civil matters, he has long served important industrial and financial companies in different controversies on product liability, agency agreements and breach of supply and tender contracts (also in the field of project finance, having worked for many year together with some of the most important project finance teams in Italy).

In addition to the above, Ilario has a solid experience in the IP sector and, over the years, he has acquired an outstanding expertise in out-of-court matters as well (he has assisted, together with some of the most important actors in the Italian corporate market, banks and investment funds in complex private equity and M&A transactions). Thus, the direct and in-depth knowledge of corporate and M&A dynamics have enabled him to commit to this sector, and provide an excellent technical support to clients at a judicial and pre-litigation level.

Before joining Grimaldi, Ilario was partner of important Italian and international law firms.
