Gertjan Verachtert

Gertjan is a partner at Sansen International Tax Lawyers since 2015. He assists clients with national and international tax issues, as well as with the structuring of estates in an (inter-)national context. His consultancy and support services cover both private assets (often linked to financial assets and wealth, capital gains or investments) and income as well as related corporate tax advice for familial businesses. In these fields, he also assists individual and corporate clients with dispute settlement and litigation.

Over the years, Gertjan has built up particular experience in advising on asset structures, private M&A, equity incentives, migration and emigration of high net worth individuals and companies, and cross-border equity investments. Following personal interests, Gertjan also professionally advises artists and athletes in an international context.

Gertjan is a member of the Antwerp Bar.

He is an active member of AIJA (www.aija.org and current President of the AIJA Tax Law Commission). In this capacity, Gertjan organised events of tax for artists and athletes, private equity and taxation and the first AIJA Wealth Lab.
