Practice Areas

Georges has advised and acted in the following transactions:

- Advising Real Estate Investment Funds in the purchase and sale of stakes in Shopping Centres, shares/quotas from specific purpose companies (SPE), as well as real estate properties, corporate offices and towers;

- Advising financial institutions on structuring and on the public offerings of Real Estate Investment Funds (FII) shares;

- Advising families and individuals on assets organisation and restructuring, real estate investments and wealth planning;

- Advising individuals and companies on the purchase and sale of different types of real estate properties, performing legal due diligence as well as negotiating and drafting of agreements;

- Advising companies and individuals on the purchase and sale of rural properties in different states in Brazil, as well as relevant agribusiness related agreements such as rural lease, sharecropping, purchase and sale of eucalyptus forests, timber deeds, and others.

Career

Georges has wide experience in real estate transactions. Before joining Martens & Dornaus Advogados, Georges was the partner in charge of the capital markets and real estate investment trusts practice areas of De Vivo, Whitaker, Castro & Gonçalves Advogados (currently De Vivo, Castro, Cunha e Whitaker Advogados), a full-service law firm in São Paulo.

Previously, he worked as the head in-house legal counsel of Mattel do Brasil, a multinational toy manufacturing company (Mattel Inc.).

Education:

- Law degree from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo - PUC/SP (2005).

- Specialization Degree in Business Law from Escola de Direito da Fundação Getúlio Vargas - FGV – SP (2008).

- Extensions courses in Corporate Law from the same institution.
