Clive Mottram

Clive has worked in and with the water industry over many years, both as a former general counsel of a large water and sewerage undertaker and in legal private practice, specialising in water sector law and regulation.

He has more than 35 years’ experience of the water sector, gained in-house and in private practice, and has a detailed knowledge of regulatory and operational matters affecting the water industry. Spending just over two decades at Severn Trent Water, he worked on a wide range of commercial, corporate and litigation matters and provided specialist advice on the regulatory provisions governing the sector.

Clive has been recognised by leading legal directories Chambers & Partners and Legal 500, commended for his significant experience in and knowledge of the water industry. In private practice, Clive works with clients in the water sector, and also advises businesses in other sectors looking for advice on their obligations around water and wastewater law and regulation.
