Amr Namek is a mergers and acquisitions specialist with 20 years of experience. His practice focuses on private equity, M&A and joint ventures in the financial services, energy, transport, logistics, consumer goods, retail, education, healthcare, telecoms and media sectors. His clients include institutional investors and high net worth individuals doing business in Egypt.
Prior to joining ALC, Namek served as the General Counsel of Qalaa Holdings (formerly Citadel Capital) one of the region’s leading private equity and investment companies. During his tenure as General Counsel, Namek developed significant background dealing with international development finance institutions, regional financial investors and high net worth individuals as he structured, negotiated and executed several landmark transactions in MENA region (Egypt, Sudan, Iraq, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Algeria) including Qalaa Holdings’ landmark project the Egyptian Refining Company ($4bn hydro-cracker project in Egypt). His work covered private equity, project finance, fund management and debt restructuring in a variety of industries
Namek holds a Maitrise degree in international business law from Paris I Sorbonne University as well as license en droit from Cairo University.
