Head of the Corporate M&A Practice, Amr Namek is a mergers and acquisitions specialist with 20 years of experience in business and corporate legal advisory. Amr is one of the few M&As specialists who combines the expertise of in-house and private practice in Egypt, as he served as General Counsel of Qalaa Holdings (formerly Citadel Capital) Egypt’s largest private equity player in Africa.

During his time at Qalaa Holdings (formerly Citadel Capital), Amr was the main advisor on several landmark deals and multi-jurisdiction transactions. His role as Qalaa Holding gave Namek unparalleled expertise in private equity, project finance, fund management, debt restructuring in a variety of industries such as oil and gas, oil refining, transportation, agriculture, mining and financial and non-financial services.

Other than his experience and expertise in the Egyptian Market expertise, Amr also advised on a number of M&As in African jurisdictions such as Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Algeria. Namek also developed strong familiarity and expertise in dealings with English law governed documentation, which only Band 1 lawyers in Egypt can demonstrate.

Amr has special expertise in structuring private equity transactions and fund management deals using offshore vehicles in the British Virgin Islands & Mauritius.
