Amanda A. Rottermund is a partner in the art law team at the international law firm Withersworldwide's New York office. She has focused on art law from the beginning of her legal career, advising on many groundbreaking developments that are changing the landscape of the art market - including NFTs for art and new AR experiences. Amanda's work focuses on art transactions, and she deals with purchases, sales, loans, consignments, and charitable giving of works of art. She also has robust experience representing borrowers and lenders in lending transactions with fine art as collateral. Amanda works with domestic and international ultra-high net worth individuals and their families on sales and use tax, income tax, gift and transfer tax, and trust and estate planning and audits. She counsels artists and their estates on estate tax and estate administration preparedness and the logistics necessary to administer major asset-backed estates.
Amanda also works with galleries and dealers on their business operations and ventures - advising on template documents, vendor agreements, and terms and conditions. She has experience in regulatory compliance with Fish and Wildlife and other regulatory agencies.
Amanda is recognized by Chambers in the Up and Coming category and previously in Associates to Watch in the Art and Cultural Property Law section. She was also listed a Rising Star in Super Lawyers in 2022.
