Dr. Dr. Adem Koyuncu is double qualified as a lawyer and medical doctor. Adem is German-qualified and is a chair of the firm's "Food, Drug & Device" practice group. He leads Covington’s German life sciences practice from Frankfurt. He has a broad life sciences practice and advises clients on regulatory and compliance issues that affect pharmaceuticals, medical devices and digital-health-products (e.g., telemedicine devices). He also helps clients with data privacy and product liability matters and has assisted clients in transactions and internal investigations.

Career

Before joining Covington, Dr. Dr. Koyuncu was a partner and co-head of the global Life Sciences-group at another leading international law firm. Prior to this, he worked in the pharmaceutical industry for several years and also practised as a medical doctor in Germany. He has experience as a member of an Ethics Committee/IRB.

Professional Memberships

Dr. Dr. Koyuncu is member of several industry associations of the medical device and pharma industry. He is also a guest professor at the Bucerius Law School, Hamburg, the University of Marburg and at the University of Düsseldorf. He is a widely-published author and also member of the editorial boards of leading legal journals on pharma and medical device law.
