Ádám Liber is the Managing Partner at BLB Legal Bagdi Liber Bereczki Attorneys at Law. As a tech-savvy legal advisor, he specializes in the intersection of data protection, digital regulation, and cybersecurity, advising multinational clients on complex regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters.
With more than two decades of professional experience as an attorney, Ádám has been consistently ranked by Chambers Europe and Legal 500 among Hungary’s leading lawyers in Technology and Data Protection (2019–present). He regularly advises on GDPR compliance, international data transfers, e-privacy, electronic communications law, AI regulation, and complex technology-driven business models. He has extensive experience representing multinational and Hungarian clients in regulatory investigations, audits, and administrative disputes before Hungarian and EU authorities, particularly in matters involving systemic digital compliance risks.
His legal expertise is uniquely complemented by a robust technical and cybersecurity background, allowing him to uniquely bridge the gap between legal and technical compliance. Ádám holds a PhD in Law (summa cum laude) with a research focus on the interplay between the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the GDPR. He is a HIPO Certified Intellectual Property Expert and the holder of multiple elite international privacy designations (FIP, CIPP/E, CIPM). Furthermore, he holds the ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification and is officially registered in the Hungarian National Cybersecurity Centre's Registry of Persons Responsible for Electronic Information System Security (ID 33). He also holds LL.M. degrees in Competition Law (Pázmány Péter Catholic University) and U.S. and Global Business Law (Suffolk University Law School, Boston, MA).
Beyond his legal practice, Ádám is a dedicated educator and thought leader. He is a frequent speaker at professional conferences and a regular author on European and Hungarian data protection and digital regulation. Since 2010, he has been the editor-in-chief of the DataPrivacy.hu weblog. He is a highly active educator, lecturing on privacy and data protection law in postgraduate university programs, and serving as a speaker on competition law for the Hungarian Intellectual Property Office's (HIPO) Certified Intellectual Property Expert Training Programs.
Ádám's leadership extends across key professional organizations. He currently serves as the Vice-President of the Hungarian Corporate Compliance Society (heading the Data Protection and Technology Working Group) and the Secretary General of the Hungarian Association of Competition Law. Internationally, he is an external expert in the European Data Protection Board’s (EDPB) Support Pool of Experts, officially selected for both legal and technical expertise in new technologies and information security.
