Main Areas of Practice
Telecommunications:
The firm has a very strong regulatory practice, with in-depth knowledge of administrative law and related matters. They advise on all aspects (transactional, contractual, regulatory and project implementation) of the telecommunications industry. Mundie’s team has been involved in almost every relevant project in Brazil and has contributed to proposed rulemakings for the regulation of telecom services. Mundie’s telecom clients include carriers, broadcasters, satellite companies, sharing companies, ISPs, OTT providers, content distributors, equipment providers, and other organizations who operate in the internet, telecommunications, and media sectors.

Media & Entertainment:
Mundie is regarded in Brazil as a go-to destination for legal advices regarding entertainment and media subjects. The team represents several clients who produce, license, acquire, use and invest in film, television, music and digital content for distribution in Brazil. They regularly assist companies with the acquisition of broadcasting rights involving sports-events (football, the national passion, in particular). The team has helped clients to solve blockers and minimize the risk of costly litigation, offering creative solutions.

Technology:

The firm advises on every aspect of corporate activity, including the drafting and negotiation of all types of agreements, structuring of foreign and local investments, organisation of companies, funds and joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, real estate, as well as technology transfer and technical assistance arrangements. Given the enhanced regulatory capabilities of the firm, the M&A/corporate group of the firm has extensive experience in M&A/corporate transactions in regulated sectors.

Tax:
Mundie’s tax practice group has an extensive experience in providing tax consultancy services involving all Brazilian taxes, as well as with respect to tax litigation matters. Our firm has also large experience in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) deals, particularly in relation to the structuring and implementation of tax-efficient structures and it is specialized in taxation on TMT sectors. In recent years we have also assisted and increased the portfolioi of individual clients (e.g. high net worth individuals and expatriates) with tax planning and family succession matters.

Dispute Resolution:
The Dispute Resolution department has a notable performance in judicial lawsuits, in strategic business arbitrations, as well as in bankruptcies and corporate reorganization under court supervision. The team has frequently assisted clients in lawsuits involving contractual disputes between companies, as well as in collective actions filed by associations and governmental entities, as the Government Attorneys Office, regarding regulatory, consumer and civil matters, especially on the areas of Telecommunications, Energy Resources, Public Bidding & Procurement, Privacy, Consumer & Data Protection, Antitrust, International procedures and cross-border litigation.

Labour:
Mundie’s labour practice assists our clients strategically focused in complex litigation and counseling matters of particular concern our clients, such as employment agreements, internal policies, variable compensation, global mobility, collective bargaining issues, among others day-to-day matters.

International Trade:
The firm assists Brazilian and foreign clients in matters related to international trade and customs in Brazil and abroad, including complex trade remedies investigations, sunset reviews and WTO disputes. The team has expertise in handling customs matters such as tariff reduction, special customs regimes as well as assisting with public interest proceedings.

International Work
During the last 25 years, Mundie has become a leading provider of legal services in several of its practice areas.
