We are a full-service legal practice serving a broad base of clients from across the globe in legal matters in Northern Ireland, England and Wales. Combining the experience of major commercial practice in two jurisdictions and the proven track record of a regional firm spanning three generations, we offer advice on a full range of transactional and contentious legal matters.

The firm has two partners - Kevin MacAllister and David McAleese - who founded the practice in 2020 by merging the existing full-service high-street practice of MacAllister Keenan and niche commercial practice DMC Legal.

The firm provides a wide range of legal services - from commercial advice including corporate sales and acquisitions, commercial property and finance matters to high-value litigation including commercial, personal injury and clinical negligence claims.

With two other long-serving solicitors in the practice, we are also able to advise on a full range of private client matters making us a true full-service practice.

Based in Larne, County Antrim only 20 minutes from Belfast city centre, but with clients across the whole of the UK, Ireland and further afield, we are proud of the diverse range of clients, transactions and matters in which we have been fortunate to advise on since the practice was founded.

The primary practice areas in the firm are:

COMMERCIAL PROPERTY - advising a number of clients in England, Wales and Northern Ireland on acquisitions and disposals, both on an owner/occupier and investor basis. We also advise clients on site assembly, construction and forward sale of development schemes. We are currently advising on development transactions with an aggregate site value in excess of £50million.

CORPORATE/COMMERCIAL TRANSACTIONS - we are involved in a number of business sales and acquisitions especially for the many local SME businesses in the region, whether as part of succession planning and structuring or at arm's length as a structured exit. Our clients include professional sports clubs, hospitality and retail businesses and professional services firms.

CLINICAL NEGLIGENCE CLAIMS - advising plaintiffs in relation to complex clinical negligence matters, we have recently secured compensation of £2.25 million for a client in respect of blindness caused by mismanagement of prescription medication. We have a significant number of ongoing clinical negligence claims with a broad range of issues and values and are experienced in dealing with multi-party, high-value and complicated factual backgrounds for our clients.

PERSONAL INJURY CLAIMS - we regularly advise on a range of personal injury matters for plaintiffs and have recently concluded a high volume of long-running claims regularly returning six-figure compensation payments for clients.

BANKING AND FINANCE - we have good relationships with all major financial institutions and alternative lenders in Northern Ireland, dealing with projects and acquisitions both locally and in England and Wales. We are engaged on a series of corporate finance and property finance matters, restructuring of loan facilities and alternative finance structures including ultra-high net worth individuals.

RESTRUCTURING AND INSOLVENCY - we advise a range of clients, both corporate and individual, in relation to pre-insolvency action plans and formal insolvency processes including administrations, CVA/IVA and liquidations. We advise both lenders and borrowers in respect of options available to them in an insolvency scenario, including advice on director duties and responsibilities and secured/unsecured debt recovery.

PRIVATE CLIENT - as an established high street practice of over 25 years history, we provide the full range of private client services expected of us - from residential conveyancing and wills/probate to matrimonial and family law.
