Firm Overview:

Leading international publications of the legal sector place Di Tanno Associati among Italy’s top tax consulting firms. Founded in 1986 by Tommaso Di Tanno, Di Tanno Associati is renowned for seamlessly integrating tax expertise with corporate and financial competencies. With offices in Milan and Rome, the firm is a reference point in Italy's legal and tax consultancy landscape, epitomising excellence, professionalism, and forward-thinking.

Since its inception, Di Tanno Associati has been at the forefront of numerous high-profile M&A transactions, both domestically and internationally. Its involvement spans various jurisdictions, including notable deals such as the sale of Infostrada Telecommunication from Vodafone UK to ENEL and the transfer of NPLs from Banca Intesa and Unicredit to KKR. The firm's forte extends beyond M&A to encompass private equity, infrastructure, real estate funds, and tax litigation, with clients ranging across diverse sectors and industries.

Di Tanno Associati has been instrumental in driving significant transactions within the Italian M&A market, such as the acquisition of Engineering by Bain Capital and Neuberger Berman, and the purchase of Lutech by Apax. Its expertise also extends to real estate endeavors, evidenced by its involvement in the sale of a logistics portfolio by the Carlyle Group and Colony Capital's acquisition of a building complex. Additionally, the firm has made significant contributions to equity capital markets, debt issuances, and the management of NPLs and UTPs. The firm's track record in navigating tax litigation has secured victories in critical proceedings before the Supreme Court. Its standing is further solidified through adept negotiations with Tax Authorities, exemplified by the success in settlement procedures and tax ruling requests.

Flexibility and personal commitment of its experienced professionals, together with the talent of brilliant young practitioners, allow the firm to create value in particular complex or innovative situations, where standardised or conformed consultancy is not sufficient. This collaborative approach enables the firm to deliver innovative solutions tailored to address the complexities of modern business environments, earning the firm recognition as a trusted partner for navigating intricate legal and tax landscapes. The founder Tommaso Di Tanno, former adviser to the Italian Finance Minister, involved in most prestigious governmental commissions, is a renowned expert on economic and fiscal affairs.
