Dr. Timothy Effiong Okon is a geophysicist, petroleum economist, corporate strategist and financial consultant. He is regarded as the foremost expert in Petroleum Economics with almost 40 years of. Dr. Okon started his career in 1978 as a Geophysicist/Exploration Interpretation Supervisor and served in various capacities in the Exxon Mobil Organization in the US, UK, Angola, and Indonesia. He joined NNPC as the Group General Manager (Corporate Strategy) in June 2007 and rose to the position of Acting Group Executive Director (Exploration and Production).
