Simon Cooper is a partner in Ince and has 35 years’ legal experience in the insurance sector. His practice has encompassed most classes of business including professional indemnity, property, cyber and reinsurance of all kinds. Simon is experienced in all forms of dispute resolution and in working with lawyers in many jurisdictions, as well as co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional projects on clients' behalf. Simon has been involved in a number of landmark cases during his practice and he advises widely on the development of new products for insurers, and has been instructed in relation to a number of the recent modernisation projects in the London insurance market.

Maria Philippides, Partner, Webber Wentzel

Maria is a dispute resolution and litigation specialist. Her focus is on insurance law and contractual and delictualdisputes in Africa, as well as in various jurisdictions in Europe. Her insurance practice concentrates on advising insurers, reinsurers, brokers and corporate clients on coverage issuesand alsomanaging disputes on their behalf in relation to a number of insurance related issues arising from their various policies. She has successfully handled numerous claims and actions dealing with issues of fraud, material non-disclosure and misrepresentation, subrogation, insurable interest, warranties, and the like within the context of corporate, commercial and domestic property, assets and liability insurance (including commercial, industrial and agricultural fire insurance), all risks cover, professional indemnity insurance, broadform liability, product liability, business interruption and personal injury. Franciscois a partner at the Monterrey office. He has over 20 years of professional experience providing advice to national and international clients in mergers and acquisitions operations related to the food, pharmaceutical, chemical, technological and retail sectors, among others, as well as in insurance and application of the new regulation governing insurers based on the Solvency II Directive of the European Union. Francisco is member of the Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados, Nuevo León Chapter, International Legal Fraternity Phi Delta Phi, Chapter Salinas Martinez and International Bar Association (IBA). Francisco is widely published, especially in the areas of corporate law and the content of the Law on Insurance and Bonding Institutions and earned his law degree from FacultadLibre deDerechode Monterrey in Mexico and LLM with specialisation in Corporate Law from Law School, New York University, USA.
